Trout In The Classroom

As of the 2025/26 school year, we now have six schools and seven classrooms enrolled in the Trout in the Classroom program:

North Lincoln High School

Burns Middle School

River Bend Middle School (2 classes)

Tuttle Elementary School

Hickory High School

Release schedule 2026--Approximately 9 AM

South Mountains State Park

     Hickory High School April 17th 

     Tuttle Elementary School  April 21st

    River Bend Middle School May 4th

Please consider making a donation to Hickory TU Trout in the Classroom program. Each year it costs us about $2000 to continue the current schools and an additional $2000 for adding a new school. We currently have 5 schools and 6 classrooms in the program and each spring take them to the river to release the fish and have them search the river bottom for the bugs the trout eat in addition to fly casting, fly tying, and other programs.
